INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING POPPIES
Poppies should be made in red yarn by knitting or crocheting; or cut out of red felt using the template. The felt option may be more suitable for younger children and schools, who wish to take part in this project. Sewing a large black button into the centre of each felt poppy has the added bonus of learning an important life skill!
Knitted/crocheted poppies should have a black centre. These can be made of yarn or alternatively a large button may be used.
Poppies should be between 9cms (3.5 ins) and 13cms (5ins) in size.
Poppies must NOT be made of anything other than textile products in order to withstand the elements. Please no paper, card or laminates.
